AORN 2002 AWARDS INFORMATION
Eligibility:
1. The applicant must be a current member of AORN.
2. Applicants may apply for more than one award, unless applying
for the Award of Excellence. Award for Excellence applicants are
eligible to submit applications for that award only.
3. Headquarters staff, Board of Directors and Awards Committee
members are ineligible for awards while in any of these positions.
Guidelines:
1. Completed packets MUST include the following:
A. Application (Section A and Section B)
B. Curriculum Vitae
C. Sponsor Forms from colleague and immediate supervisor (Section
C)
2. Packets must be returned to the AORN Awards Committee via AORN
Headquarters and postmarked by October 1, 2001.
3. The Awards Committee will hold all packets received confidential.
4. A new awards packet must be completed and submitted each year.
No awards packets will be kept for consideration by the next year's
Awards Committee.
5. Incomplete packets will not be considered.
6. Applicants may submit for both research awards; however, they
are eligible to receive only one award per year.
Selection Process:
1. The Awards Committee is appointed annually by the President
and approved by the Board of Directors. Awards Committee members
are responsible for reviewing all application packets received
for the year that meet the requirements and for selecting recipients
of the awards.
2. All recognition items for the individual awards will be presented
at Congress. Recipients' names will be added to perpetual plaques
and will be displayed at AORN Headquarters.
